Keeping an eye on the moment passing
Many lighthouses divide their beam into sectors. The white sector marks the safe course, while the red and green sectors warn that you are drifting away from it. When the light changes colour, you know you have left the safe route and entered an uncertain zone.
Red Sector is about unintended course changes — about moving into the unknown. Once you cross that line, you are alone, cut off from the ordinary routines of life. During the Red Sector deadline art project we lived and worked in the harsh environment around the Lille Presteskjær lighthouse. This book is the record of what we found there.
Red Sector was created on location by Anki Gneib, Annica Thomsson, Eirik V. Johnsen and Kristian Pohl. The words were later written by Helge Kaasin and hand-lettered by Fredrik Matheson. The book is the result of their combined work
