Red Sector exhibition opening at NRK Radiohuset

The Red Sector team (here represented by Eirik V Johnsen, Helge Kaasin and Kristian Pohl) was invited by the art council at NRK to exhibit the book and project in the newly refurbished entrance to the Radio house. The long hallway is a perfect gallery for a book and we are so proud to be sharing our work here.

Helge Kaasin wrote the words to the images and created a new storyline for the quiet, suited gentlemen. We have decided to lift the words off the page by printing dem directly on the glass, allowing the image and the text to live at two different levels - we are very proud of the result. DE TO MENNENE irriterer. De utfører tomme handlinger i et landskap som før ga mening. Søkende forsøker de å trenge inn i det fortidige, det som var, på leting etter de meningsfulle handlingene. Deres handlinger går ikke inn i det fortidig landskapets diskurs og er dermed frakoblet dette. Deres handlinger er meningsløse i ordets rette forstand; de gir ingen mening. Handlinger i en nåtid, ute av takt med fortiden, ute av stand til å finne igjen de fortidige handlingsrommene. Rommene, landskapene, gir åpninger for tolkninger av fortidens handlinger. Disse to mennene forkludrer denne tolkningen, løper den til, sauser den i hop. I deres fortvilte og spastiske handlingssøken finner de bare kontraster med fortidens meningsfulle handlinger. Men i den kontrasten trer den menneskelige situasjon frem. Den nakne ape, det alltid utenforstående dyret.
